Discovery Club Website

I know this wont be easy for many as I myself isn’t quite sure about website building, so to start out easy I like you all to first go with designing the basic template which is the placement of the header, body, links and footer. After doing that you may start off with thinking about the colour scheme which u like to use, thirdly is to put in the boxes for your stuff to go into, last is to decorate it with what ever you think suits your design (pictures, vectors, anything)

That doesn’t give you much idea right? I’ll be introducing much more tutorial on this blog as we move on, but for now we’ll stick with the simple stuff which is thinking about placement and colour.

Basic example of placement

Header
Header is basically your banner where you put most of your design and decoration or just the web site title

Links/tabs
Where u insert in your tabs, buttons, links to other part of your web site

Body
The main part of the web site, basically you’ll have your back ground, and web site information on it.

Footer
The ending of your website normally inserted with credits, designs, links.

Deadline will be notify soon.

*Coding will be done by me unless you are pretty handy with html and coding tools, you are free to do it your self and hand it to me.

Example of a Homepage template (for example only)

*if anyone is interested in veiwing the template in full please msg me.

A warm welcome

The Graphic blog is up and running. Please take note of the details below.

First and for most let me welcome all of you to Discovery Club's Graphic Team.
even thought i did specify which field you are interested in but let me inform you that the brainstorming will be done as a whole group no matter you are interested in Graphic Design, Multimedia Design or Web Design.

  1. Work load will not be given to one member only but to the whole group as i know every one will be quiet busy with their daily life.
  2. Each work will go through either Anson or Sam, Kelvin and last but not least Melvin before gaining approval.
  3. Members are encourage to show case your work to fellow members to receive comments.
Email / Forum would be our main line of contact followed by short meetings during youth.
  4. Every member must be a frequent member at Discovery Club, GCC.
  5. Members may request items such as brushes, fonts, or anything else that is require for the work to be done.
  6. Work done by members can be inserted with initials or name to be recognize by fellow youth members and for future portfolio.

there's been a few confusing question about the difference of Graphic Design, Multimedia Design and Web design

Graphic Design

this batch of people will be doing advertising for the occasional JAM session and Special Events. you'll be working mostly with the ZETA JAM team, ZETA Special Event team and Melvin as he is one of the many photographer in church.

Multimedia Design

this batch of people will be doing t-shirts design, web site design and Video Advert for youth. you'll be working with Kelvin and Anson for the moment as we have limited leaders for the team.

Web Design

this batch of people will be doing the DC web site, Forum and the occasional updating of the web site which would be the hardest job among all. you'll be working with Melvin as he is holding the admin title and currently finding leaders for this team. (who have experience in this field please contact me asap)

*members will be arrange to team base on interest and by me.

More rules and regulation will be added in the future, for the mean time stick to this few basics.
